Democrats narrowly won a gubernatorial race in Kentuck a few days ago after flipping both chambers of Virginia’s state legislature from Republican to Democratic.
The night wasn’t, however, without some full-circle moments, and among them was Juli Briskman.
Briskman flipped off President Trump’s motorcade in 2017 to show her frustration with his bungled relief efforts in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria and his treatment of immigrants. Briskman’s employers, however, feared they’d lose their federal contract should Trump retaliate after a photo of the gesture was reshared on the Internet, leading them to fire her.
Well, Briskman has a new career path now: she just won the local election, beating her Republican incumbent for a seat on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
And, unlike the incumbent she won against, she’s a fierce advocate for education funding and environmental awareness.
