Women Share How To Respond When a Man Makes a Nasty Joke

It’s in people’s nature to defend themselves by declaring that “they were just joking” when called out for their racism, sexism, bigotry, misogynism, etc.
Yes, we’ve all encountered it at some point in our lives, and we’re well aware that it’s such a cowardly and infuriating move. Some men, though, act like women just don’t understand their oh-so-funny humor, and they try to cover up their bigotry and inappropriate language under the “joke” category.

Heather Thompson Day is an author that recently shared what seems to be the perfect way to shut down people when they make an utterly inappropriate comment and try to cover it up by claiming that “it was a joke”.

As it turns out, Heather actually learned this neat ‘trick’ form her own dad:

Heather’s initial tweet gained so much popularity that hundreds of women chimed in to share their own stories of how they were the receiving side of sexist excuses of “jokes”, and how they responded to it.
