Women Share Their Unique Noses To Battle Unrealistic Beauty Standards

Although we’ve come a long way in body acceptance, and the tide around the ‘ideal’ beauty standards has somewhat shifted, there are still many challenges remaining – including one body part that often gets picked upon.

Holly Hopkins is a 19-year-old woman from Manchester, U.K., and she recently shared an eye-opening post about the so-called ‘ideal’ beauty standards when it comes to the nose. Yes, the nose. The fashion industry has been promoting polished side profiles for years now, even though the reality is that these profiles are extremely rare in real life. Hopkins shared a ‘before’ photo of her nose, and she wrote that it’s totally Okay if your nose looks like all the ‘before’ pictures we’re seeing on the internet. And she’s damn right!

Her tweet racked up almost 170k likes, and thousands of people chimed in and celebrated their unique looking noses for what they are: completely natural, normal, and rhinoplasty-free.

As Hopkins’ tweet went absolutely viral, she unintentionally started off something of a “nose positive” initiative, where hundreds of people shared their unique noses.
